Keith Motsinger, age 40, of Mountain City, passed away Monday,
January 1, 2007 at Watauga Medical
Center.
Ryan was a born on February 10, 1966 in
Winston Salem, North
Carolina. He loved his family and his children
were his life. Ryan was employed at Hanes Brand (National Textiles).
He was a veteran of the U.
S. Army and a member of
Roan Creek Baptist Church.
Ryan was
preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wilson Motsinger and Henry
Bodford.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Brown Motsinger; two
daughters, Kandas Motsinger of Johnson City, Courtney Motsinger of
Mountain City; son, Austin Motsinger of Mountain City; his parents,
Larry and Wanda Bodford Motsinger of Rockhill, SC; two brothers,
Neal Motsinger and wife Tay of Charlotte, NC and Jeff Motsinger and
wife Taunda of Mountain City; maternal grandmother, Elsie Bodford;
paternal grandmother, Frances Highfill; and several aunts, uncles,
nieces and nephews.

5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4,
2007 at
Roan Creek Baptist Church with the service to follow at
8:00 p.m. with Rev. Derl McCloud and Rev. Ron

Bruce E.
McGlamery, age 69, of Trade, passed away Sunday, January 07, 2007 at
Johnson City Medical Center.
Bruce was a lifelong resident of
Johnson County and was born on December 31, 1937 to the late Raymond and Jessie Neatherly
McGlamery. He was a machine operator at Film Salvage and was a
member of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge # 243 F&AM where he
served as Worshipful Master for two years. Bruce was a veteran of
the U.
S. Army. He was a member of the
Trade United Methodist Church.
In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray
McGlamery.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Virgie Arnold
McGlamery; two sons, Jeff McGlamery of Trade and Lawrence McGlamery
& wife Carolene of Butler; four sisters, Emily Shatley, Reba
Hartzog and husband Wayne, and Betty Trivette, all of Lenoir and
Annette Bentley and special brother-in-law James Revis of
Statesville; brother, Hayden McGlamery of Trade; and several nieces
and nephews.

Jewel Thomas Cuddy, age 81, of
Chuckey, TN, formerly of
Mountain City, passed away Thursday, January 18,
2007 at her
residence.
Jewel was born on February 8, 1925 in Trade, TN to the late Lundy and
Pearl Clara Osborne Thomas. She was a store
manager for Smithey’s Department Store and was also employed at
Michael’s Department Store. She was a member of First Christian
Church in Greeneville.
In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
J. C. Cuddy; daughter, Kathy Cuddy Arnold; infant son, Edward Cuddy;
and two brothers, Ralph and Ross
Thomas.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Cuddy Spears and
husband Gary of Chuckey; brother, Dana Tommy Thomas and wife Janet
of Mountain City; granddaughter, Tabitha Arnold of Mountain City;
grandson, Brett Garland of Jonesborough; step-granddaughter, Chyanne
Lipford; two nieces, Dianna Thomas of Reno, Nevada and Carol Roark
of Trade, TN; two nephews, Eddie Thomas of Mountain City and David
Thomas of Morristown; and several great nieces and
nephews.

Lynn Pleasant, age 38, of Boone, formerly of Mountain City passed

Jeffery
was born on March 5, 1968 in
Carter County. He loved hunting and collecting
arrowheads. He was currently employed at Southern Agriculture
through Able Body Labor.
Survivors include his wife; Connie Proffitt Pleasant;
daughter, Kala Lowe of Mountain City; parents, Bennie Hubert and Ida
Belle Pleasant of Mountain City; step-daughter, April Proffitt of

Burl was
native of Johnson County and was born on August 14, 1923 to the late Roscoe and
Alice Potter Perkins. He was retired from Ford
Motor Co. after 31 years of service and also worked for Film
Processing Co. for 10 years. He was a veteran of the
U.
S. Army and served during WWII. He
was a member of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge No. 243 F&AM and a
member of Bethany Baptist Church.
In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife,
Virginia Perkins who passed away December 15,
1996; two
brothers, Hartley Potter and Earl Perkins; and two sisters, Blanche
Stout and Cleo Colson.
Survivors include his wife, Lee Norris Perkins; his daughter,
Barbara Bunten and husband Bob of Mountain City; son, Ronnie Perkins
and wife Kathy of Butler; step-son, Rev. Harold Mains and wife Anita
of Elizabethton; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren;

was born on February 14, 1939 in

Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.

addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters,
Laura Sue Norris and Josephine Revelle; and two brothers, Junior

Charles
was born on May 18, 1941 in
Johnson County to the late Sollie and Mae Winters
Stanley. He liked farming, the outdoors and
woodworking. He loved and was loved by his family and will truly be
missed. He was a member of Mountain City Church of
Christ.

Plant for 27 years and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church
of Mountain City.

her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert
Garland; two sons, Reford Garland and Tom Garland; three brothers,
T. Walker, Hobert Walker and E. G. Walker.

Jean was born on August 14,

Virginia to the late Albert and Maggie
Tucker Snow. Jean enjoyed traveling as a military wife for 26 years,
3 months, and 4 days. She was a member of First Assembly of God
Church.
In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood Snow and Walt
Snow.
Survivors include her
husband of 53 years, James V. Pennington, Jr.; son, Tim Pennington
and wife DeAnna of Abingdon; brother, Jake Snow of Sunnyville,

Hall was born on May 2,

Johnson County to the late Millard Jethro and Mattie
Virginia Stewart Hammons. She was an avid gardener and liked her
flowers. She loved her family and will be truly missed. She was a
charter member of Johnson County Rescue Squad Crewettes and a lifelong member of
Hammons Chapel Christian Church.

addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Maurice Hall.

Amanda Shomate of Jonesborough; two sons, Jesse Shomate &
fiancée Tarah Gentry of Unicoi and Mickey Shomate of Kingsport; his
mother, Georgia Shomate of Mountain City; two sisters, Diane
Wagner and husband Robert of Mountain City and Dixie Widner and
husband Ronnie of Laurel Bloomery; three brothers, Bill Shomate and
wife Joyce of Ashland, Ohio; Dave Shomate, of Tampa Bay, FL, and
Rick Shomate and wife Sheila of Hudson, NC; two grandchildren,
Braden Michael Shomate and Tyler Lee Shomate; and several nieces and
nephews.
The
family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00
p.m.
